Real Talk: Let’s diffuse the motherhood lies we ALL believe

Motherhood is pitched to us as a relentless season of pure bliss and joy. And sometimes it truly is. But for far too many moms, it can also be incredibly isolating, painful, confusing, and plain hard. When we don't normalize these complex feelings, they can mutate into silent shame or a heavy blanket of guilt.

We can lovingly lean into this vulnerable space to diffuse the motherhood lies that can keep us trapped, breaking free from internal false narratives that can feel so real, such as:

  • "Good moms are always happy."

  • "I’m the only one who struggles this much."

  • "My worth is tied solely to my children's success."

God’s word can counter these lies with strong, faith-forward truth, which we must repeatedly speak over ourselves, such as:

  • "I am loved by God even when my day is a chaotic disaster."

  • "My messy reality is where real connection happens."

  • "His strength is perfect in my weakness."

He can help us with a healthier headspace and practical self-talk truths to implement daily.
